Important Notice To Potential Applicants: 


Applications for the Section 8 Program can ONLY be accepted after the Housing Authority has announced that the “Waiting List” is “Open”.   The waiting list for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is currently CLOSED. When Vernon Housing Authority opens the waiting list, it will be announced on this website and advertised through public notice in both the local newspaper and at 2-1-1.

Individuals applying for state and federal housing programs are subject to background screening. The screening includes a credit check, criminal background check, landlord references, and/or personal references.

The waiting lists for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, the Public Housing Program, and the Pitkat Congregate Living Center are currently CLOSED.  When the Vernon Housing Authority opens the waiting list, it will be announced on the website and through public notice in both the local newspaper and with 2-1-1.
